April 2011: Aldi abandons colour additives

From Thursday 28th April, all foods sold in Aldi supermarkets, whether own brand or other suppliers, will be free of artificial colours. Woolworths has already removed artifiicial colours and flavours from own brand products and Coles is currently doing so, but have asked other brands to change. The managing director of buying at Aldi, Stefan Kopp, said that customers were interested in buying healthy foods for themselves and their children.
